The Human Resources department is looking to add a motivated professional to the team.

BASIC FUNCTION:

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Human Resources, administers personnel records and benefit programs. Assists in the overall daily function of the Human Resources Department.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Reliable and prompt attendance and punctuality. Acts as a role model in regards to time usage.

2. Responsible for overseeing the recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and/or facilitating this process at all Milestone, Inc. locations.

3. Assists in the supervision of administration of personnel records, manual and computerized, including all require documents per regulatory agencies.

4. Administers health, dental, disability, life insurance and worker's compensation programs. Is knowledgeable in all and processes applicable forms. Is a resource person to all employees on the above benefits.

5. Assists in the monitoring of Milestone employee attendance, punctuality, use of vacation and personal leave and reports status to supervisory personnel. Administers discipline or discharge as it relates to attendance and punctuality.

6. Assists in operation of computerized timekeeping, schedules, and computation of hours worked and accurately documents use of paid benefit hours

7. Documents hours worked and submits totals to Accounting Department for completion of bi-weekly payroll.

8. Acts as an employee advocate for job related training needs.

9. Communicates job openings and arranges facility transfers and promotions from within where possible. ­

10. Represents Milestone, Inc. in any claim for unemployment insurance benefits. Generates responses and makes timely appeals where applicable in compliance with current IDES guidelines.

11. Is available to all staff as a resource person.

12. Reviews investigations and maintains accident records of all worker's compensation claims and acting of methods of prevention. Responsible for meeting OSHA safety standards.

13. Is knowledgeable and capable of completing all duties and responsibilities of the Human Resource Department.

14. In compliance with the Milestone philosophy and policies toward Human Rights, immediately intervenes on behalf of the individual(s) served and reports to the appropriate agency (OIG, DCFS, IDPH) and/or Supervisor.

15. Performs other duties as directed or assigned;

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • One to three years' experience in Human Resources or Benefit Administration
  • Good oral and written communication skills
